Maps from the Pelagic Invertebrates Collection

The Pelagic Invertebrates Collection includes samples collected on more than 250 oceanographic expeditions over much of the world ocean, with particular strengths in the Pacific, Indo-West Pacific, and Antarctic regions. Click here for the geographic coverage map.

Approximately 65,000 samples originate from the continuing CalCOFI program in the California Current (1939 to present). Click here for the CalCOFI map.

The collection includes over 1,700 large opening plankton trawls, most from mesopelagic and bathypelagic strata. Click here for the
trawls map.
